Square Tower

This is the ‘inner castle’ or ‘square tower’ separated from the main castle by a deep rock cut ditch. If you look closely you can even see chisel marks where the rock was cut away. This tower was uncovered during the 2010 dig. Archaeologists need to do more research to know what this tower may have been used for. Was it a strong room? Was it a prison? Was it a living area?
